When we will change ?

Pyaar, Itna Pyaar, koi kaise kar sakta hai itna pyaar ki wo apni hi patni ko maar de... haaye ye pyaar......

money money money money money .... how much one can be so greedy and cheap that he can burn one of the important person in his life that's his "soul mate" just for the sake of money. Yes, his soul mate, his wife to whom he got married and promised to keep her happy lifetime.  Yes, I am talking about dowry system that is still prevailing in India and many other countries. It is shameful to say that in country where we compare women to goddess Lakshmi or Durga it is happening. Is it we treat or pray to goddess lakshmi or Durga. 

Disgusting.. Just Disgusting.....

It is one of the ancient practices prevailing in our country that has not just exploited its roots but also exploiting the life of today's generation's in India. Earlier the parents openly asked for dowry but now it is given as compensation or so called "gift" to the groom and its parents. The style of giving dowry to groom's parents has been changed but not the reason due to which dowry is given that is in fear of problem that will be occurred in bride's married life if bride's parents will not give that so called gifts to groom and his parents. 

The effects of dowry system are many and varied but in almost all cases it is the girl’s side which has to face the repercussions while the boy’s side walks away from the issue unharmed.When demands for dowry are not met, the bride is subject to torture, and often even killed. Most of the dowry deaths occur when the young women, unable to bear the harassment and torture, commit suicide. Most of these suicides are by hanging oneself, poisoning or by fire. Sometimes the woman is killed by setting her on fire which is known as ‘bride burning’ and is disguised as accident to avoid criminal charges and punishment.

According to the Indian police they receive over 2,500 reports of bride-burning alone every year while the number of dowry deaths is about 9000. These numbers increase at a rate of 1-2% every year. It is also a reason why many parents don’t want to have daughters, because of the dowry they will have to spend too much at her marriage, and the stress they go through due to never-ending demands from her in-laws. The scars left on the body of a bride not just give pain to her but also left a never ending bad memory in mind that I wish any bride would go through in future..............
